Dell’s Latitude E5570 business notebook is a rather large, matte-black chunk of a machine that looks like it’s ready to tackle business applications as well as any other task you care to throw at it.

It’s also incredibly durable thanks to carbon fibre reinforcements, a keyboard that resists spills and an optional Gorilla Glass touch-screen display that’s so resistant to scratches, you’d have to put some serious effort in to even slightly damage it.

The E5570’s speakers are hidden underneath the notebook’s front lip, and a 180-degree hinge allows you to bend the lid back so that the entire machine is flat.

Under the hood you’ll find Intel’s latest processors – up to a super-powerful Core i7-6280HQ – and memory and hard disk configurations from 4 to 32GB and 1TB hard drives to 500GB SSDs.

Naturally, the E5570 runs Windows 10 Professional and is thus well-suited to any corporate environment. It also sports a number of security and manageability features that IT departments require, including TPM 1.2 modules, and of course it supports optional card and fingerprint readers too. With so many security-related options, it will be right at home with Active Directory and any and all policies and safety requirements implemented by your IT department.

Deep 2mm key travel and a highly responsive track pad make using the laptop when out of the office a pleasure, and a clever little pointing stick provides a great alternative to a mouse.

The 1080p display is crisp and clear as well, and Dell has ensured its colour reproduction is spot-on, producing over 100 percent of the sRGB colour spectrum. The optional touch capabilities are nice to have as well, as using Windows 10 with a combination of touches, keyboard shortcuts and mouse clicks is by far the most efficient way to make use of Microsoft’s latest operating system.

The only downside to this excellent business tool is its weight and its heat buildup – at 2.5kg it’s a little hefty for travelling comfortably during long business trips, and its underside gets warm enough to be uncomfortable, making it a little awkward for actual lap use.

Those two points aside, Dell has come up with another powerful, feature-rich winner for the discerning business person looking for raw compute power.
