South African business printer users are embracing Epson’s WorkForce Pro RIPS inkjet printer and multifunction printer (MFP) product range as they strive to simplify their office automation environments and reduce the costs of printing and copying. The printer solutions are available to the reseller channel through Epson distributor, Tarsus Distribution.

The WorkForce Pro RIPS range of colour and monochrome printers and MFPs use Epson’s Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS) technology, which is able to print up to 75,000 pages between ink changes. This eliminates a great deal of physical waste compared to colour laser printers, while improving office efficiency and reducing downtime. The MFPs integrate printer, scanner, copier, and fax functionality in a compact footprint.

RIPS: No fusers or drums

With high capacity ink packs and no fusers or drums to replace, business users can reduce the time and costs spent on admin, repair, ink loading errors and maintenance. This helps them, in turn, avoid hidden costs such as supply mismanagement and engineer support. Supplies are quick and easy to replace, reducing user intervention time by up to 94% compared to laser printers.

Available exclusively as part of a Managed Print Service, these printers can help businesses to create a distributed printer fleet that handles the demands of busy workgroups and delivers predictable print costs. With print speeds of up to 35 pages per minute in mono and colour, the series delivers a first page-out time of up to 3.5 times faster. A cool print process enables users to easily print on a range of media, including recycled paper, glossy media, envelopes, business cards and labels.

Smooth printing

Says Nicole Anderson, product manager for Epson Hardware at Tarsus Distribution: “With the Epson RIPS technology, we see an end to time-wasting interruptions to change consumables, deal with supplies mismanagement, or wait for IT support when a component breaks. It provides smooth, on-demand business printing and copying at a predictable, economical cost per page.

“With this technology, inkjet comes into its own as a serious option for businesses with large print volumes. Epson’s PrecisionCore technology enables users to benefit from reliability, waste reduction and reduced environmental impact in an easy-to-manage and affordable printing solution that also makes life easier for the IT department.”
