Earlier this month we posted a story about the amazing PC displays Samsung showed off at CES 2019, among them the Samsung Space Monitor.

Well, local tech site MyBroadband has posted a story about it in which the writer says that the Space Monitor is “…the best-designed PC monitor I’ve ever used”. That’s high praise indeed!

While the monitor’s tech specs are certainly good – it has a 144Hz/4ms/VA 27-inch 2560 x 1440 panel with 250cd/m² brightness – it’s more the way the screen can be deployed on a desk that earns the journalist’s enthusiasm.

The secret’s in the stand

This is thanks to its unique stand design that hides power and input cables, and clamps onto the desk’s edge in a way that maximises the desk space available to the user.

Journalist Jaime McKane writes “This arm mounts to your desk via a robust clamp and allows you to adjust the monitor as you see fit, moving it high or lower, and closer or further away, at will. While this sounds trivial, being able to move the display one centimeter up or down, or one degree left or right makes a big different (sic) in your viewing experience.”

There’s more praise, too; check out the full article for McKane’s detailed analysis of the screen.

Coming soon to TD

This innovative monitor will soon be available to partners via Tarsus Distribution, according to TD’s Samsung product manager, Charl Van Den Berg.

It’s expected to arrive in February 2019, and you can get hold of Charl on email and by phone (011 531 1000) if you have any questions; or if you’d like to reserve one for yourself or your customers, you can contact your account manager.

In the meantime, if you need a closer look at it, here’s an official Samsung video that shows the screen off:
