Microsoft shared its vision for the Internet of Things at its recent Inspire conference.
More specifically, Microsoft’s Jerry Lee, the company’s Director of Cloud and Enterprise, took the audience through Microsoft’s IoT vision in a 55-minute keynote speech. He covered three primary points: how Microsoft sees IoT evolving, how the market is developing, and how partners are participating.
Other areas covered included how partner business models are evolving, and what Microsoft itself is doing in terms of its product portfolio and partner offerings in the IoT space.

“Inspire” is all about the company’s extensive partner community. It’s been running in one form or another since 2002, when it took place at the Los Angeles Convention Centre and attracted an audience of 4 700 participants.
Microsoft uses the conference to keep its partners informed of its latest developments, overall strategies, what it’s aiming to achieve in the coming year, product roadmaps and the like.
The conference features several keynote addresses by Microsoft executives on the big topics of the day, as well as invited guest speakers and hundreds of break-out sessions for attendees to attend and absorb, along with an extensive list of exhibitors who go to show off their goods.
This year’s conference ran from the 9th to the 13th of July in Washington, D.C., at the Walter E. Washington Convention Centre.
