Two new Samsung products will arrive in South Africa later this year: the Galaxy Note 10 smartphone, and a new 27-inch curved gaming monitor, the C27RG5.
The Android-powered Note 10 will be unveiled in detail at Samsung’s big Unpacked event happening in New York on the 7th of August (according to CNET), while Samsung themselves have indicated that the C27RG5 “will be available globally in Q3 2019” in an official news release (linked above).
Tarsus Distribution will be stocking both of these Samsung products when they arrive in-country. No word yet on the exact dates they will arrive, however, but Samsung Product Manager at Tarsus Distribution, Charl van den Berg, is confident that they will be available from Tarsus Distribution by the start of September.
Curved G-Sync Gaming Goodness
The C27RG5 offers exactly the features 2019’s gamers want in their monitors, as it’s big and curved for maximum immersion, it supports a very high 240Hz refresh rate, and supports NVIDIA’s G-Sync adaptive refresh technology that ensures screen tearing is a thing of the past.
Things the modern PC gamer can really get behind, in other words, as they all contribute to a sublime gaming experience that the consoles just can’t offer: more frames per second, superior smoothness, and incredible visuals.
This is on top of the incredible colour and contrast supported by the monitor’s hardware, which provides incredibly black blacks and vibrant, punchy colours to really round out the viewing experience.
It’s an utterly superb monitor, and one we’d love to spend a good few hours benchmarking.
Guarding the Galaxy Note 10
We’ll see more about the Note 10 in the coming months, but for now here’s a summary of some of the more persistent rumours as found on tomsguide.com:
- It’ll be coming in two sizes: Extra large and large! The best guesses at this time are screens sized between 6.3 and 6.7 inches.
- Both models will have 5G variants
- Samsung might call the bigger of the two devices the “Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Pro”
- The bigger device might have a 4500maH battery (the same size as the one in the Galaxy S10 5G)
- Colour options could include “gradient, blue and silver gradient”
- The front camera may shift to the middle of the phone
- Instead of a speaker grille at the top, the Note 10 might use Samsung’s Sound on Display technology which vibrates the screen to produce sound
