Two new gaming monitors have hit store shelves locally, both from electronics giant Samsung.
The first is the 24-inch C24RG50, a curved screen aimed at gamers on a budget, but who also value style and performance. It boasts a high-refresh panel that runs to 144Hz, AMD Freesync technology, a 1080p resolution, a really high 3000:1 contrast ratio, and a very low 4ms response time.
These features are what gamers want from their screens these days, which, when coupled with a generous 1800R curve, offers up an immersive gameplay experience. All without breaking the bank.
Local tech site Glitched wrote up an in-depth review of the C24RG50, which you can find here.
CRG90: Wraparound Vision
The second monitor is a premium screen, one that offers a truly impressive viewing experience- it’s an absolutely massive 49-inch ultra-wide gaming monitor that wraps whatever you’re looking at around your vision, to the point where you might even have to move your head from side to side to see it all!
It’s Samsung’s CRG90, a specially-designed gaming monitor with a QLED panel, a crazy resolution of 5120 x 1440 (that’s the equivalent of two 24-inch 1440p screens side by side, which is why they call it a “Dual QHD Gaming Monitor”), a 120Hz refresh rate, and an 1800R curve.
This is the kind of monitor to go for if you really need a wraparound screen, you love seeing as much of your games as possible at any given time, or you work on multiple applications and viewing them side by side enhances your productivity. The CRG90 does all that, and more.
Glitched also did a write-up of this screen, by pairing it with an Intel NUC mini PC and putting it through its paces. You can read that here.
Samsung showed this gorgeous monitor off earlier this year, at the Consumer Electronics Show that was held in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the US. Below you’ll see the video the company put together on the event; the CRG90 section starts at the 0:51 mark.
That was also where Samsung talked about its amazing Space Monitor, a very thin, very flat screen that takes up very little desk space, which we wrote about back in January.
