Some people may have noticed a small change in branding that we have been easing in over the last few months. If you haven’t, well I don’t blame you as we have specifically tried to not make a huge event out of it.
Over the last few years, Cloud has been a buzz word in the industry and has become a critical strategy for many customers. Tarsus Cloud On Demand has taken advantage of this over the last 4 years and built a rapidly growing and expanding business, servicing the local IT Channel.
Nothing stays still in this industry and we have seen a fundamental shift over the last 18 months to a “Cloud First” mentality of approaching technology. Cloud has become the basis for delivering IT as a Service to customers and delivering the applications and tools that they need to be more efficient and more productive. Our focus is to provide the channel with the platform and tools to enable the delivery of this new way of consuming IT. This is not only about Cloud. This is about enabling partners to procure, provision and bill services for customers in a way that is unique to them.
Our local Cloud services, our deployment of Odin as a Cloud provisioning and billing engine and the Microsoft Office 365/Azure offering, have been brought together in one place for our partners to utilise. There have been significant investments made in all these areas in our last fiscal year.
Different partners at different points in the Cloud maturity model will have different requirements for themselves and their customers. As an example, a partner might want to consume IaaS from us to deploy their own Cloud applications. They have the expertise in the application, but need somewhere to run it and more importantly, bill and provision it in a cost effective way. We can give that ability through our local Cloud services platform as well as allowing them to use our Odin billing and provisioning platform on a pay-as-you-use basis.
What this all leads to, is that we are trying to enable a Subscription and Consumption platform for our partners to build an “On Demand” business. This long explanation is really here to try and explain why we are dropping a single word from our name. We are excited to now be Tarsus On Demand and working with empowering our channel to take advantage of this new way that customers are consuming IT services. Same people, same passion, just a richer solution offering extending beyond just technology.
Sometimes a small change can make a big difference.
