Last year we reported that Samsung’s QVO solid-state drives were coming to the country “soon”, but we didn’t know when, exactly.
Today, we learned that these high-capacity-yet-affordable “Quality and Value-Optimised” QVO 860 SSDs will arrive at Tarsus Distribution next month.
They will be available in capacities of 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. Their South African pricing isn’t final yet, however.
Samsung put out a video that makes a fantastic argument for consumers to give them a closer look:
This is excellent news for anyone who loves the speed of SSDs, but who doesn’t love their price-per-gigabyte.
With the QVO range, Samsung aims to bring high-capacity SSD pricing down to more affordable levels. While we don’t yet know definite pricing, we’ve been assured that it is very competitive.
